This Harris’s Hawk cleaned her beak and talons after finishing her Rabbit dinner. They are such fascinating creatures, as they are the only North American raptors that hunt in true cooperative packs, using teamwork to flush and corner prey in the Sonoran Desert. Their family groups rotate roles—scouts, chasers, and blockers—to run down animals that a single hawk couldn’t catch alone.
